DOUBLE DARE

In 1986, Double Dare premiered on Nickelodeon. This popular American game show challenges two teams to answer trivia questions and complete messy stunts, hosted by Marc Summers. This show featured a lot of the Nickelodeon staple – green slime.

Nerdy Fact: The very first obstacle course on Double Dare was a disaster. The producers forgot to hide the flag in a giant bag of feathers, the contestant ripped through the feathers too fast to see the flag, and a cameraman fell into the shot. It took four tries to get it right.

“HAND ME THAT FOOT, WOULD YOU?”

In 2000, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation premiered. This TV series follows an elite team of forensic experts who use physical evidence to solve murders in Las Vegas, Nevada. It ran for 15 seasons, inspired 3 more shows in the franchise, and a revival series – CSI: Vegas – that premiered in 2021.

Nerdy Fact: The show has been named the most watched show in the world for five times, cementing its place as one of the most popular television series of all time.
