IN YOUR HOUSE

In 1985, WWF held their first ever pay-per-view event available in all American markets, The Wrestling Classic. The event featured a 16-man tournament and a WWF Championship match between Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper. The tournament was won by Junkyard Dog, who defeated Randy Savage in the finals with a headbutt. The event also included a fan competition for a Rolls Royce car.

Nerdy Fact: It is a commonly held misconception that The Wrestling Classic was the first WWF pay-per-view; even WWE often refers to it as such. However, the first WrestleMania event, in March of the same year, had been available on pay-per-view in some markets, but not nation-wide.

COTTON-HEADED NINNY-MUGGINS

In 2003, Elf released in theaters. This Christmas comedy film is about Buddy, a human who was raised by Santa’s elves and goes to New York City to find his biological father, who is on the naughty list.

Nerdy Fact: The scene where Buddy walks through traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel caused several fender benders because drivers were distracted by seeing Ferrell in his elf costume.

ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOU CARE?

In 2014, Big Hero 6 released in theaters. This movie is about a young robotics prodigy and his inflatable robot who join forces with a group of friends to become high-tech heroes and stop a masked villain.

Nerdy Fact: The voice actors for the six main characters recorded their lines together as a group, which is rare for animated films. This helped them create a natural chemistry and improvise some of their dialogue.
