PETER PAN | 1953

In 1953, Peter Pan premiered in theaters. Peter Pan is an animated musical fantasy film by Walt Disney, based on J. M. Barrieā€™s play about a boy who never grows up and his adventures in Never Land with the Darling children and Captain Hook.

 

Nerdy Facts:

  • Walt Disney himself played Peter Pan in a school play when he was a child.
  • The actor who voiced Mr. Darling also voiced Captain Hook, following the tradition of the stage version.
  • The movie was a critical and commercial success, earning positive reviews and becoming the highest-grossing film of 1953.
LEGO MASTERS | 2020

In 2020, LEGO Masters premiered on Fox. LEGO Masters is a reality-competition series where teams of two LEGO enthusiasts build elaborate original projects with LEGO bricks and compete for a cash prize, the LEGO trophy and the title of LEGO Master.

 

Nerdy Facts:

  • The show has a psychiatrist on set to talk to the contestants after they are eliminated, as well as a massage therapist to help them relax after long hours of building.
  • The contestants always have the bricks they need, thanks to a dedicated brick sorter who works behind the scenes to organize and replenish the Brick Pit.
  • The show has a consulting producer named Nathan Sawaya, who is a LEGO Master Builder and an artist. He and his team are responsible for building anything that is not made by the contestants, such as the LEGO trophy and the LEGO wall.
