In 2000, Cast Away released in theaters. Cast Away is a movie about a FedEx executive who survives a plane crash and tries to return home from a deserted island with the help of a volleyball named Wilson.

Nerdy Fact: The screenwriter, William Broyles Jr., spent several days alone on an island in Mexico to experience the challenges of survival.

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

In 2006, Night at the Museum released in theaters. Night at the Museum is an American fantasy comedy film about a night security guard who discovers that the museum exhibits come to life after sunset, thanks to a magical Egyptian artifact.

Nerdy Fact: The real-life American Museum of Natural History had 20% more visitors during the holiday season following this movie’s opening.

BACK TO THE FUTURE: PART IV

In 2010, Back to the Future: The Game released on PC and Mac. Back to the Future: The Game is an episodic graphic adventure video game based on the Back to the Future film franchise, developed and published by Telltale Games with the assistance of Bob Gale, the co-creator of the film trilogy. The game explores some of the alternate timelines and paradoxes that were created by the time travel in the films. For example, you can see what would happen if Biff Tannen became a powerful and corrupt tycoon, or if Doc Brown was institutionalized as a young scientist.

Nerdy Fact: The game features the return of several key actors from the films, including Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, Claudia Wells as Jennifer Parker, and Michael J. Fox as a special guest (No spoilers!). Marty McFly was voice by AJ LoCascio.
