HAVE WE GOT A SHOW FOR YOU

In 1993, the first VeggieTales episode released on VHS. VeggieTales is an American Christian CGI-animated series and franchise for children that features anthropomorphic vegetables in stories conveying moral themes based on the Bible.

Nerdy Fact: Though initially focusing on Bible Tales, VeggieTales found more mainstream popularity for their parody stories of franchises like Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Indiana Jones.

BALDUR’S GATE

In 1998, Baldur’s Gate released on the PC. Baldur’s Gate is a fantasy role-playing game developed by BioWare and released by Interplay Entertainment, set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting of Dungeons & Dragons.

Nerdy Fact: Baldur’s Gate has three novelizations, but they are not very popular among the fans of the game.

GOTTA BLAST!

In 2001, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius released in theaters. Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is an animated film about an eight-year-old boy genius who must rescue his parents and other adults from aliens who have abducted them. The film was followed by a TV series titled The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius that ran for three seasons and 61 episodes.

Nerdy Fact: Jimmy Neutron’s hairstyle was literally inspired by a Dairy Queen ice cream cone.

AQUAMAN

In 2018, Aquaman released in theaters. Aquaman is a superhero film about Arthur Curry, who must stop his half-brother from waging war on the surface world and claim his rightful place as the king of Atlantis.

Nerdy Fact: An octopus plays a drum solo during the duel between Arthur and Orm. This octopus is Topo, Aquaman’s octopus sidekick from the 1950s and 1960s comics.
