Save & Continue 13 | The Fictophilia Conversation (w/ LenLenRabbit)

SHOW NOTES

What happens when a fictional crush stops feeling harmless and starts raising real spiritual questions?

Most people have had a crush on a fictional character at some point. From Betty Boop or Zorro way back in the day to Hatsune Miku or Nightwing today, fictional characters have captured hearts for generations. But can that become a problem?

In this episode of Save & Continue, Steve Valdez and Kyle Fox are joined by special guest LenLenRabbit from Beneath the Tangles for an honest conversation about fictophilia—romantic attraction to fictional characters. This isn’t just a distant topic for the group, either. All three share how they’ve experienced it in different ways and explore why it seems to hit nerd culture so deeply.

Together, they unpack the appeal of fictional characters, the line between harmless fun and unhealthy attachment, and the ways these feelings can affect our emotional and spiritual lives. It’s a thoughtful, vulnerable, and nerdy discussion you won’t want to miss.
