Free Play Ep. 29 | Staying Current

About This Episode

Let’s face it:  There just isn’t enough time or money to do all of the things that we need or want to do.  A real-life example, happening right now, is that I’m trying to play through Spider-Man as I edit this podcast.  We can’t play all the games, watch all the movies and tv shows or read all of the comics. We have to do things like: work, eat sleep bathe, etc.

So… how do we do as much as we possibly can to stay current in our favorite areas of nerdom while still acting as a responsible, well-functioning adult that contributes to society?  That’s what we want to talk about this week on the Free Play Podcast.

Episode Hosts

Bubba Stallcup
Bubba is the Chief Community Nerd, host of the Free Play podcast and one of the founding members of Love Thy Nerd. He serves as Technology Director at First Baptist Church of Marble Falls, TX. Bubba, and his wonderful wife Anna, have 3 children who are pretty good most of the time. A communal gamer at heart, Bubba loves to get in and play games with other people #gameNightIStheRightNight
Kate Kadowaki
Kate is the Chief Social Media Nerd and the best girl host of the Free Play podcast for Love Thy Nerd. Some of her favorite games ever include: Stardew Valley, the Assassin's Creed franchise, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. She also enjoys slime instagram accounts, salt & vinegar chips, and Dr. Pepper. Her husband Steven says that she dies too much in games.
Matt Warmbier
Matt is the Chief Outreach Nerd and host of the Free Play podcast for Love Thy Nerd. When not bustin’ his rump for LTN, Matt can be found, more than likely, playing Gloomhaven. He and his wife Erin have something like a billion kids, and they all love to be in the woods all the time. If you follow him on instagram, everything he posts is a day behind. You’ve been warned.
